Board Member
Few people in the Missouri cannabis community haven’t heard of Dr. Mimi Vo. Chances are, not only do you know of her, but you’ve likely had at least one conversation with her or have seen her speak. That’s because Vo has become one of the most valued and credible voices in Missouri’s Medical Marijuana program during its long road to inception. Vo’s journey began after graduating from UMKC medical school in 2003. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, as well as specializing in Cannabinoid Medicine. She developed an interest in herbal medicine during her training and followed in the footsteps of her grandfather, an herbal medicine doctor, and her father - a physician and veteran. As a physician in private practice, with a varied demographic of patients, she started to learn more about the therapeutic benefits and medicinal applications for ailments ranging from headaches to tumors.

What do you love most about working in the Cannabis Industry?
I love being able to educate the medical community on the health benefits of cannabis and sharing the evidence-based medical research available is my passion.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
The biggest influence on my career are my parents. My father, a physician, taught me about natural remedies and herbal medications, which in turn he had learned from his father, an herbalist physician. My mother taught me to always stand up for those that may not have a voice and to always speak up when I witness injustice. I am so proud to be an advocate for medical cannabis patients so they may be able to use cannabis safely and without stigma.
