Annie Macheca is a St. Louis native and the Co-Founder and COO of Monarch Waste Co., Missouri’s first specialized cannabis waste service.
A committed environmentalist, she studied journalism and agroecology at Prescott College before spending years in agricultural and food justice work across the country. She returned home in 2013 to launch an urban farm, where she combined her passion for sustainability with community impact.
With Missouri’s legalization of medical cannabis in 2018, Annie co-founded Monarch Waste Co. to provide compliant, environmentally responsible waste solutions for the industry.

In both her professional and personal life, Annie is driven by care, resilience, and growth. She is a wife and mother who enjoys gardening, cooking, and beekeeping. At home, she shares life with her family, their dog, and nine lively chickens.
